With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Linda Joyce McGlamery who passed away on October 4, 2020. She was a loving, devoted mother and friend to all those whose lives she touched. Linda was born on May 25, 1950 in Nashville, Georgia to the late Ima Jean (Ray) and Curtis Jefferson Beck. She attended Berrien County Schools, Valdosta High School and Wiregrass Technical College. She received her cosmetology degree and Commercial Truck Driver License. She had many trades that include, accounting assistant, florist and caregiver. Linda was a dedicated mother and treasured her children and embraced every moment with them but also loved her role as Poohma/Nina to her grandchildren. Linda was a huge Elvis Presley Fan and lover of anything pink, black or cheetah print. She didn’t believe in selling or throwing anything away so she leaves behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her sons and daughter who have no idea what to do with it. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Angelica Rubio and brother, Ray Beck.
Survivors include her children: Omar McGlamery and wife, Enid of Valdosta, GA, Antonio Rubio of Deering, GA, Angelia Rubio of Nashville, GA; Grandchildren: Quin McGlamery, Zain McGlamery, Jayden Johnson, Khaliah Johnson, Nevaeh-Rayne Rubio; Brothers: Tony Beck of Nashville, TN.
Services for Linda will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in the Ray City First Baptist Church. Linda was told the service was going to be at 10:30 AM because she was always late so we should be starting the service on time. The burial will follow in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
