Lino Rotger

July 31, 1956 — December 11, 2024

Lino Rotger, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully after a short courageous battle with Cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and inspiration. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, his parents sought greater opportunities for their family and moved to the Big Apple when Lino was 2years old. He left New York in 2000 when he decided to support his daughter, Jennifer, who served in the U.S. Army; moving to various duty stations across the country, including Maryland, Texas, Missouri, and South Carolina.
Lino worked diligently throughout his life, holding various jobs wherever he and his family were stationed. He was an assembler with Vitex Windows in Laurel, MD, a metal fabricator for Steelworks in El Paso, TX, a groundskeeper for MWR at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and a maintenance worker for IHG at Fort Jackson, SC. No matter where he was, Lino always provided for his family with unwavering dedication, love and support.
A man of many passions, Lino found joy in watching comedies, westerns, action movies, and music competition shows. He had an unshakable love for salsa music, and he could often be found indulging in DIY home projects with Jennifer. He adored his two grandchildren, Beckham (8) and Brooklyn (1), and took great pride in doting on them, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Lino was also a devoted companion to his pit bull, Louie, who passed away in July 2023.
Lino was known for his strength and resilience. In his later years, he found a new purpose in his sobriety, dedicating himself to inspiring others through his journey of recovery. Over the last four years, he became a testament to the power of perseverance and redemption, offering support and encouragement to others facing similar struggles.
Lino is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer Burns, and son-in-law, Anthony Burns of Wesley Chapel, FL; his cherished grandchildren, Beckham and Brooklyn; and his siblings, Carmen Socorro (Coco) Diaz of Queens, NY, and Felicita (Fela) Rotger of Brooklyn, NY; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his siblings, Jesús (Chu) Rotger, Felix (Balo) Rotger, Ana Maria Becerril, and Rafael (Rafa) Angel Rotger.
While we grieve his loss, his family finds solace in knowing he was able to fully embrace and cherish the moments with those he loved most. Lino’s quick wit, warm spirit, and infectious charm will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Per his wishes he will be cremated with no additional services held. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com . The Rotger family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
