Linzie Brady Hansford of Valdosta, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the age of 97. Linzie was born on September 17, 1928, in Mud Creek, GA., to Charles, and Flora (Kirkland) Brady.
At the age of 18 Linzie moved to California where her sister Sydney resided. Linzie met and married Howard Hansford in 1948. Linzie and Howard moved to Valdosta, GA in 1983. They were married for 73 years until his passing in 2022.
While in California, Linzie received a Certified Nursing Assistant degree. Linzie worked as a CNA until the age of 85 when she retired due to cancer. Linzie loved her job with United Hospice in Valdosta GA and continued as a volunteer for a few years.
Linzie and Howard were members of the American Legion Post 13, where Howard was the Chaplain for many years. Linzie donated her time sewing ditty bags for the veterans.
Linzie is survived by her daughter Vicky and son-in-law Paul Harrison, daughter Beatrice “Pixie” and son-in-law Allen Stanford, son-in-law Art Kelly, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and beloved friends, Pam and Del Nary.
In addition to her parents, Linzie was predeceased by her husband Howard Hansford, daughter Barbara Kelly, 2 brothers Clayton and Roy Brady, and 6 sisters Kizzie Brady, Sydney Wilson, Luella Smith, Edna Player, Reba Simpson, and Pat Wallace.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Sunset Hill Cemetery Valdosta, GA. Kind words of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Hansford family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
