Of Lakeland, GA passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Orlando, FL. She was born on January 10, 1958 in Valdosta, GA to the late Bobby J. Moore and Letha (Fountain) Moore. Mrs. Sirmans was a 1976 graduate of Lanier County High School, a 1978 graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, and a 1980 graduate of Valdosta State College, obtaining an R.N. in Nursing. She began her healthcare career in high school at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland, GA as a CNA. She was president of her sorority Alpha Xi Delta . Following graduation from VSC, she joined the USAF as a 1st Lt. and leaving after 8 years as a Captain to teach Health Occupation at Lanier County High School for 4 years. She worked as a nurse in nursing homes in Glennville, Nashville, Brunswick, and Valdosta, GA. She is the former Director of Nursing at Lakehaven Nursing Home and was currently the Assistant Director of Nursing at Holly Hill Nursing Home. Mrs. Sirmans is preceded in death by her father, Bobby J. Moore, father and mother-in-law, Leon and Jeanette Sirmans, sister Pamela Bradford and sister-in-law Diane Sirmans.
Survivors include her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 34 years; Wayne Sirmans, Naylor, GA; Daughter: Shelli Sirmans, Jacksonville, FL; Mother: Letha Moore, Valdosta; Sister & Brother-in-law: Maeve Whitworth (Roger), Bainbridge, GA; 2 Brothers & Sister-in-law: Mike Moore (Charlene), Alma, GA, Greg Moore, Valdosta; Nieces: Brandy Bradford, Erica Willing (Adrian), Tiffany Moore, Marin Moore; Nephew: JR Bradford, Josh Whitworth (Megan Kesler), Andy Moore; 2 Great Nieces: Layla Davis and Ryleigh Christine Bradford
Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the Good Hope Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Sirmans will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, April 25, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Good Hope Church Cemetery fund, 6758 Good Hope Circle, Naylor, GA 31641.
