Of Quitman, GA passed away on July 4, 2019 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA. He was born on April 5, 1939 in Valdosta, GA to the late Lee L Courson and Otha (Whatley) Courson. He served in the United States Navy for 5 years and worked with the local cable company and as an Electronic Engineer for numerous years. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Maxine Courson Frush.
Survivors include: Wife of 52 years, Rachel Courson, Quitman, GA; Mother-in-Law, Nora Israel, Brevard, NC; Daughter and Son-in-law, Lori Courson McSwain (Jody Lee), Valdosta, GA; Son, Randall Lee Courson, Jesup, GA; 4 Grandchildren: Evan Lee (Rebekah) Courson, Morgan Elizabeth Courson, NoraLee McKenzie McSwain, Jacob Liam McSwain; 3 Brothers, John C. Courson, Valdosta, GA, James L. Courson, Macon, GA, Kenneth R. Courson, Clyattville, GA; Several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 11, 2019 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. No formal visitation will be held.
