Lois Virginia Cooper Layton – 86
Of Lake City, FL passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Hospice Care Center in Lake City, FL. She was born on May 15, 1930 in Tifton, GA to Ira David and Etta Mae West Cooper. She worked many years for the Lowndes County School System as a lunchroom assistant. She was well known for her authentic pancakes, biscuits, and chocolate. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Layton, by three of her children, Martha Holmes, Roger Layton, Kenny Layton, by her three brothers, Clarence Cooper, C.L. Cooper, Benny Cooper and by three of her sisters, Roseine Sumner, Dovey Pritchard, and Christine Ross.

Survivors include her Son, Rick Layton of Lake City, FL; Daughter, Dawn Layton of Suwannee, FL,
Daughter & Son-in-Law, Tammy & Lamar Courson of Lake City, FL, Daughter, Salina Rumker of Dothan, AL; Sister, Betty Johnson Sanford of Tifton, FL; and a number of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Hahira, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at wwwmusicfuneralservices.com. Music Funeral Services of Valdosta, GA is serving the Layton Family.
