Lonnie Charles Dinkins Sr., age 89, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed on December 2, 2025. He was born on September 22, 1936, in Madison, FL to parents Edward Lee Dinkins Sr. and Bessie Price Dinkins.

Before beginning his career in business, he proudly served four years in the United States Air Force, a time that shaped his character and deepened his love for his country.

He cherished every moment spent with his three grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Lonnie found peace in fishing, lying about fishing and found joy in reading, especially history books about General George Patton.

A graduate of Valdosta State College, Lonnie often spoke fondly of his time there, it was where he met the love of his life, Carol. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared passions.

Lonnie also enjoyed tending to his garden and cheering on and complaining about the Atlanta Braves. His warmth, gentle spirit, sense of humor and unwavering devotion to his family and interests will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Carol Dinkins; brother, Randy Dinkins; sister, Noma Jan Dinkins; brother Gene Dinkins; sister, Pauline Dawson; brother, Edward Lee Dinkins Jr; sister, Ruth Rowan; brother, Burrell Dinkins; sister, Edna White and brother Horace Dinkins.

He is survived by his son, Lonnie Charles Dinkins Jr.(Patricia) of Valdosta, GA; daughter, Deborah Deen McClintock (Eric); grandchildren: Aidan McClintock, Emily Dinkins and Lauren McClintock; brother Del Dinkins (Jeanne) of Clermont, FL and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

A visitation will be held at 10:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Adel, GA. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. John Catholic School in Valdosta. The Dinkins family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services Valdosta.
