Of Valdosta passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Heritage Healthcare at Lakehaven after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 7, 1932 in Lanier County to the late G.Q. & Marie Brickle Ganas. He worked as a parts salesman for Megahee Speight until retirement in 1985. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and Azalea Lodge #716. Mr. Ganas served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Ganas and sister, Margaret Biggles.
Survivors Include: Wife of 55 years, Carolyn Ganas, Valdosta, GA; 2 Sons & Daughters-in-law, Andy & Teresa Ganas , Valdosta, Ga, Barry & Dorothy Ganas, Jennings, FL; 3 Grandchildren: Andy Ganas, Jr., Candi Ganas and April Brogdon Josh; Great Grandson: Landon Brogdon and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Dr. Ernie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Cemetery in Berrien County where Masonic rites will be rendered. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
