Louise Jarrett Lavender
Louise Lavender, 88, of Dasher, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. The funeral service will be Saturday, February 27, at 12 noon at Dasher Church of Christ, with burial in the Dasher Cemetery.
A native of Early County, Georgia, Louise had resided in Dasher since 1970, having moved there to serve the boarding students of Georgia Christian School as a cook. Subsequently for many years she served as a caregiver for the elderly. Louise was an active member of Dasher Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Jarrett, her sisters, Ann Stewart and Lela Mae Driver, and brothers, Quinn Jarrett and Leldon Jarrett, as well as her son, Tim Lavender.
Survivors include sister, Susie Kate Dickerson, of Brunswick, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Bill Naylor, of Lake Park, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Cheryl Lavender, of Sylvester, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Esther Lou and Clifford Bryson, of Vancouver, Washington; daughter, Miriam Lavender, of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth & John Thompson, of Rockbridge Baths, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family will receive friends at Dasher Church of Christ, from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 12:00 noon. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Georgia Christian School, the Alzheimer's Association, the Traumatic Brain Injury Association of Georgia, or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
