Lucile Ann Mann

November 1, 1941 — May 22, 2009

Of Lakeland, passed away, Friday morning, May 22, 2009. She was born November 1, 1941 in Atlantic, Iowa to the late Leonard and Agatha Beaman. At age 3, Lucile and her family moved to Southern California where she graduated from Lynnwood Academy and La Sierra University with a B.A. in English. Lucile worked at White Memorial Hospital in Public Relations. In 1963 she married the late Dr. Guy W. Mann and raised three children. The family lived in Glendale, California, Guadalajara, Mexico and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada before settling in Lakeland, Georgia in 1974. In 1980, Lucile began work at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital. She retired as Chief Accountant in 2009. A lifelong music enthusiast, Lucile taught piano and music classes, sung in the community choir, and was the organist and pianist for the Lakeland Seventh-day Adventist Church. She mentored countless young people through her 30 years of involvement in the church Pathfinders program. She served as the School Board Chair of the Lakeland Adventist School.
Lucile is survived by her younger sister, Patricia Beaman of Chattanooga, TN, Her three children, Elizabeth Hoey of Lakeland, GA, Edward Mann of Springboro, OH, and Laura McKeon of Monterey, TN, and her four grandchildren, Jonathan Hoey, Hannah Hoey, John Isaac McKeon, and Ivana McKeon.
Funeral services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in the Lakeland Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Mann will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, May 25, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held in Union Township Cemetery in Guthrie Center, Iowa.
