LyNell Nell Peters 71
Of Hahira passed away Thursday, October 01, 2009 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born in Lanier County on May 25, 1938 to the late Henry & Ruth Peters of Hahira, GA. Ms. Peters was a graduate of Pine Grove High School in Valdosta; Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her RN; and Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Anesthesia, where she earned her CRNA. Following graduation, she worked at Banks Jackson Commerce Hospital for 21 years, and then with the VA Hospital in Decatur for many dedicated years as a CRNA. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she served on numerous committees. She loved to fish, travel, watch sports, and help others and loved the outdoors. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jesse Francis Parker

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 3, 2009 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with the Rev. Jim Schappaugh and the Rev. Mike Fountain officiating. Burial will follow in Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bethany Hospice, 2517 Bemiss Road Suite D, Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
