Malama Barnes - age 64
Of Quitman passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 in South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on August 3, 1946 to the late Salapu & Masuisui Saoimanulua Liufau. Mrs. Barnes lived in different states being a Navy wife. Formerly of Jackson, MS she moved to Barney, GA seven years ago and currently resided in Quitman. Malama was a very loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She had many nieces, nephews and "adopted" children. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and baking. She always had a smile on her face and always made people laugh. She touched many people's lives. She is loved greatly and will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Hulen "Pete" J. Barnes, her parents, 4 sisters and one brother.

Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the funeral home. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 201 Pendleton Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602 or Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA. 31602.
