Of Valdosta, GA passed away Friday morning, February 25, 2005 in South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Mr. Blanton remained very active during his retirement. He was born in Berrien County Georgia and lived in Valdosta most of his life. He was the last surviving child of Lattie A. and Onnie M. Brogdon Blanton. Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by his sister Wilma Folsom and Brother Lemmie Blanton. He was a member of Cherry Creek Baptist Church in Lowndes County, GA.

Funeral service were held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 28, 2005 in the Cherry Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed in Burnt Church Cemetery near Lakeland, Ga.
Music Funeral Services of Lakeland will be serving the Blanton family.
