Margaret Louise Monk – 86 of Hahira, Georgia passed away on Wednesday January 20, 2021 after an illness. She was born on January 19, 1935 in Jasper, Florida to the late Retha (Putnal) Hysmith and the late David Langford. Margret was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member in her church and enjoyed singing gospel. She also loved to fish. To her family and friends, she was known as “the best cook in the world”. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Albert Monk; grandson, Bobby Cribb; two brothers.
Survivors include her children: Catherin C. Padgett and husband Terry of Jacksonville, FL, Susan C. Page and husband Jeff of Thomasville, GA, Rusty Mullis and wife Joanne of Ray City, GA, Rhonda M. Hall of Thomasville, GA; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; Brothers: Carlton Ray Langford of Madison, FL, Shelton Langford of Madison, FL, Carroll Hysmith of Madison, Fl; Sisters: AnnieLee Langford of Florida, Cynthia Langford of Madison, FL, Gwendolyn Langford of Florida, Annette Langford of Florida, Patty Hysmith of Jasper, FL, Sally Hysmith of Jasper, FL; Yvonne Langford of Atlanta, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday January 24, 2021 in the Evergreen Cemetery of Jasper, Florida. Messages of sympathy can be left at
