Of Valdosta, GA passed away Wednesday January 7, 2014 at The Heritage House in Valdosta, GA. She was born on May 28, 1924 in Manor, GA to the late Walton Clark James and Maggie Cribb James. She worked at the O & I Papermill for 20 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Cleveland Joseph "Joe" Shear, two sons Martin Gene Shear and Kelly Walton Shear, a brother Wesley James and two sisters Evelyn Beverly and Dora McMillon. She has been a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Valdosta since it began in her and her husband's home. She was known as the "Mother" of the church. Mrs. Shear was not only a good and faithful servant but has always been a praying wife and mother. Her children always remember their mother kneeling by the bed praying for their safety and most importantly their salvation.



Survivors Include: Son and Daughter-in-law- Henry and April Shear- Gainesville, FL;
Grandchildren: Vickie KnightLee, Pam YoungJim, Joey Shear, Jennifer Ford, Odessa HarrisKen, Tiffany O'Brien, 10 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren;
Brother and Sister in Law-Bural and Geneva James- Waycross, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday January 10, 2015 in the Valdosta chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
