Marguarite Battles Sims – 85

Of Gadsden, AL passed away early Saturday morning June 18, 2011 at the residence of her daughter in Lake Park, GA following a lengthy illness. She was born June 29, 1925 in Gadsden, AL where she spent most of her life. She later moved to Birmingham, AL in 2009 and recently moved to Lake Park, GA for her final days with family. She was a member of the Southside United Methodist Church in Southside, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Sims, parents, Byron and Lillie Harris Battles and a brother Jack H. Battles.

SURVIVORS: Daughters and Sons-in-Law, Jane Dainas, Gadsden, AL, Celia and Eddie Stewart – Birmingham, AL, Susan and John Farrington, Birmingham, AL, Nancy and Chuck Jernigan – Lake Park, GA, 7 Grandchildren – Brandon Dainas Angela, John Jernigan, Andrew Jernigan, Stefan Farrington, Emily Farrington, Will Stewart and Haylee Jernigan.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday June 25, 2011 in the Pilgrams Rest Cemetery in Southside, AL. The family will receive friends at the Collier- Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden AL Saturday June 25, 2011 between 1:30 and 2:30 P.M.
