Marie Katherine Coble

Marie Katherine Coble, 79, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 20, 2026. Born on July 11, 1946, in Lakeland, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Browning and Citha Gentry Browning.

Marie dedicated more than 25 years of her life as a talented cake decorator with Publix Super Markets, where her creativity and attention to detail brought joy to countless celebrations. Outside of her work, she found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—tending to her garden, nurturing flowers, casting a line while fishing, and expressing herself through drawing.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Bynum Coble; her son, Kendall Cochran; her sister, Ruth Benefield; and her parents.

She is survived by her sons: Tony Jackson (Jackie), Curtis Jackson, James Cochran and Chris Jackson; her daughter, Stephanie Pike (Trevor); granddaughters: Jessica Jackson, Kayla Cochran and Kansas Davis (Amber); brother, Windell Browning; sister, Mabel Bolling; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Cochran; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services, Lakeland with burial to follow in Fender Cemetery, Lakeland. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the funeral home.
