Marie Madgelene Lipham, age 96, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at her residence. She was born on March 22, 1928, in Ava, Ohio to the late Steve and Susan Silvia (Koshock) Derby. Marie served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1955 and then served in the US Government with the Civil Service where she retired after 30 plus years. Some of her hobbies include sewing, quilting and volunteer work with the American Red Cross. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Estel Ellis Lipham and her daughter Linda Slater.
Survivors include her son, Joe Lipham of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Tina Meck and husband Robert of Sanford, Florida; grandchildren, Brandon Lipham and wife Brindy of Ogden, Utah, Haley Lipham of Warner Robins, Georgia, Hunter Lipham and wife Makayla of Valdosta, Georgia; great grandchildren: Rylee, Ryder, Brooklyn, Eddie, and Nova; brother, Ed Derby of Ceres, California; sister, Wilma Stonerock of Spring Hill, Florida; sister, Marti Waldron of Beverly, Ohio; sister, Ruth Skinner and husband Lee of Lowell, Ohio; brother, John Derby of Stockport, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 4, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Kind words and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at
