Mark Anthony Roland

Dr. Mark Anthony Roland – 56 of Valdosta, GA passed away on Friday August 7, 2020, at South Georgia Medical Center. Mark was born on May 8, 1964 in Lakeland, GA to the late Vivian Ann Warren Howell. After graduating from Lanier County High School, he chose to continue his education. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor in Biology and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with a Doctor in Dental Medicine. Mark owned a successful dental practice in Valdosta where he loved practicing dentistry and making his patients smile. He was a member of both the Georgia Dental Association and American Dental Association. Mark was also an avid fisherman and active member in the Lowndes County Bassmasters, Fisherman’s Paradise Buddy Club, and the Christian Bass Club. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Stella and Elige Warren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, who was his biggest supporter, high school sweetheart, and lifelong best friend, Karin Pafford Roland of Valdosta, GA; Mark was a loving and devoted father of three children. Children: Marcus Leo Roland and wife Bea of Valdosta, GA, Katharine Grey Roland and fiancé Lucas Sweat of Valdosta, GA, James Emory Roland of Valdosta, GA; Mark was also a supportive big brother and role model to three sisters. Sisters and Brothers-in-Law: Ronda and Joe Bob Day of Ray City, GA, Tori and Chad Taylor of Ray City, GA, Rachel and Patrick Yarnall of Tallahassee, FL; Aunt Faye and Uncle Lamar Peacock of Lakeland, GA; Tori and Rachel’s father, Pope Howell of Lakeland, GA; Numerous nieces, great-nieces, and extended family members.
A celebration of life service will be held for Mark at 11:30 AM on Saturday August 29, 2020 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
