Marlene Basson- 89
Of Naylor, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 27, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Marlene was born on June 24, 1935, to the late William Glenn Gaskins and Bessie Gaskins in Nashville, Georgia. In her free time, she found joy tending to her garden, where vibrant flowers and lush greenery flourished. She also loved sewing and quilting, skillfully crafting beautiful pieces that showcased her creativity and attention to detail. Most importantly, Marlene left behind a legacy of unwavering kindness and the genuine compassion of Christ. Even as her body grew weary, Marlene remained a steadfast soldier for the Lord. Her Bible was a testament to her faith, filled with the names of those she lifted in daily prayer. She penned heartfelt letters of love and encouragement, and her phone was perpetually busy as she offered Godly wisdom to anyone who sought it. Her favorite thing to do was hug, and she would often say, “Come, let me touch you”. Throughout her life, she transformed her small kitchen into a sanctuary of nourishment and love, where she prepared meals for others and welcomed friends and family with open arms.
