Martha Ann Dupree

Martha Ann Dupree – 80 of Lake Park, Georgia passed away on Saturday January 23, 2021 in the South Georgia Medical Center after an illness. She was born on September 14, 1940 in Jennings, Florida to the late Julia Etta (Swilley) and Freddie John McDonald. Martha was an active member of the Greenwood Baptist Church; she enjoyed attending her Sunday school class, The Loving Hearts. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 73, and preached to others that it was never too late to find God. Martha’s greatest love in life was being a loving and nurturing wife, mother, and as her grandchildren affectionally called her, little nana and nanner. They each will cherish the memories of her singing “You Are My Sunshine” and baking them a special cake for their birthday. Martha retired from the Hamilton County School System where she worked for many years as a paraprofessional and a lunchroom attendant. Martha always put others before herself and was truly a humble lady. As she loved to dance here on Earth, her family is sure she is dancing alongside Jesus now in Heaven. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Dupree, Jr.
Survivors include her children: Janice D. Zipperer and husband Milton of Valdosta, GA, Lynn D. Leonard and husband Steve of Lake Park, GA, Jennifer D. Suschinski and husband Jonathan of Statenville, GA, Ray Dupree of Jasper, FL; Grandchildren: John Daniels of Valdosta, GA, Alora Suschinski of Statenville, GA, Jonathan Dupree of Jasper, FL; Numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Memorial services for Martha will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday February 27 in the Greenwood Baptist Church. Memorials can be made to Greenwood Baptist Church 1645 East Park Ave. Valdosta, GA 31602.
