Martha Kay Wilkerson Phillips

Martha Kay Wilkerson Phillips, age 79, of Naylor, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at her home. She was born to F.D. and Kay D Wilkerson, January 3, 1947, in Valdosta, GA.

She enjoyed spending time at the beach with family and friends. Most importantly, Martha faithfully served the Lord through her gifts of singing, playing the piano, teaching, studying God’s word and mentoring others. Martha dedicated 30 years to Farmers and Merchants Bank. While she was there, she was wonderful with people and truly excelled at her job. She had a natural ability to connect with others and always brought a positive, caring presence to those around her. She retired as Vice President of Loan Operations.

She was married to Charles Phillips, and together they raised seven children, instilling in them a love for the Lord and a strong work ethic.

She is preceded in death by her parents, F.D. and Kay D Wilkerson, her husband, Charles F. Phillips, Sr, and grandson, Sean Watson.

She is survived by her children, Shari (Joel) Gaskins, Lakeland, GA; Debbie (Daniel) White, Woodstock, GA; Chuck (Autumn) Phillips, Valdosta, GA; Patches (Jane) Phillips, Lakeland, GA; Angie Watson, Lakeland, GA; Chris Phillips, Lakeland, GA; Josh (Kanawha) Phillips, Valdosta, GA.

Grandchildren: Jessica Mills, Emily & Cole Bennett, Jenna & Cameron Moat, Madison & Callie White, Ryleigh & Kolby Bussey, Bailee & Brodie Whiddon, Isabella Phillips & Ben Houston, Garrett Phillips & Haley Stone, KC & Tori Watson, Chess Watson, Cash Phillips, Tommy Phillips, Cameron Phillips.

Great-grandchildren: JessiBrooke Mills, Delilah Bennett, Everett Moat, Millie Bussey, Maddie, Noah, & Maggie Watson, Sadie & Rhett Adams.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a cause that was especially close to Martha's heart: the Good Hope Cemetery Fund, 6758 Good Hope Circle, Naylor, GA 31641. Martha was a passionate advocate for the care and preservation of cemeteries, and those who wish may also make a donation to the cemetery of their choice in her memory.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Belinda Branch for the compassionate and dedicated care she provided to their mother.
