Mary Elizabeth Cornell – 83
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center after declining health. She was born on July 2, 1936 in San Marcos, TX to the late Carl and Edna Shafer Wilson. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was affectionately called “Memaw”. She was a dedicated childcare professional and owner of a Home Daycare to a host of many children throughout Lowndes County since 1980; she also loved her pets and could often be found sitting on her back porch watching hummingbirds. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Dennis Hoffman; sister, Carla Miller and brother, Douglas Wilson
Mary is survived by her Husband of 49 years, Jonathon Cornell of Valdosta, GA; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Pam and Dale Parker of Lake Park, GA; Sons and Daughters-in-Law, Barry and Julie Hoffman of Valdosta, GA, Dale and Rhonda Hoffman of Valdosta, GA; 12 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; Sisters Dorothy Whitfield of Austin, TX, Betty Drier of Valdosta, GA; Brother, Roy Wilson of North Austin, TX; host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 11, 2020, in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Per her wishes, she will be cremated.
