Mary Elizabeth Devan

Mary Elizabeth DeVan, 79, Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on September 28, 2021 at her home. She was born on December 03, 1941 in Jasper, Indiana to Herbert and Marjorie (Marsee) Schutz. Mrs. DeVan was a proud member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the 55 and Alive Senior Choir and a volunteer for the church Clothes Closet. She loved her husband, Robert and her cats and loved to read sitting on her screened in back porch while admiring her beautiful flowers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step daughters, Kimberly S. Carroll and Michele L. Perricone.

Survivors include her husband, Robert E. DeVan of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Suzan R. Strickland of Greensboro, NC; son, H. Scott Brenner of Morton, Ill; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren;
sister, Carol Tangen of Escondido, California; brother-in-Law, Jerry Tangen of Escondido, California.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 4, 2021 in the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta with Rev. Dr. Anthony McPhail. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greensville, SC 29605.
