Mary Katherine “Mary K.” Moorman – 78
Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. She was born on February 13, 1943 in Crab Orchard (Beckley), West Virginia to the late Duke James and Lillian (Carver) James. Mary K graduated from West Virginia University and married Dr Bill Moorman, moving to Valdosta GA to start a family. Mrs. Mary K was known for her constant smile, never meeting a stranger. She was also known for her hospitality and generosity to anyone in need, she would open her house and take them in, feeding them, praying with them, and helping them get back on their feet. Mary K. was an excellent cook known for her pies and cakes eventually opening the restaurant O’Ryleys. Her best known trait was her fierce love of her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Tommy, Duke and George James.
Survivors include: Husband of 53 years, Dr. Bill Moorman of Valdosta, Georgia; Son, Dr. Ashley Moorman (Melanie) of Valdosta, Georgia; Son, Dr. Ryan Moorman (Kristi) of Valdosta, Georgia; Grandchildren: Ashton Moorman, Bay Moorman, Mills Moorman, Marli Kate Moorman, Maggi Moorman; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Lakeland, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the funeral home.
