Mary Remmie McCall
Mrs. Mary Remmie McCall, 95, of Lake Park, Ga, has been called home to Jesus on
August, 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on her grandparent's farm near Lake Park, Ga. on October 13, 1920 to the late Ralph Benjamin Lane and Ethel Ziegler Lane. Ms. McCall was united in marriage to Captain E.A. McCall, Attorney at Law, on June 21, 1942. Ms. McCall attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americus and later received her Bachelors in Education from Valdosta State. She taught school for many years in the Echols, Lowndes & Duval County, FL School system.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, teacher, and a faithful member of Lake Park Christian Church. Remmie was a devoted Christian, read her bible daily, and remained in constant prayer. She enjoyed writing, politics, and had a strong love for God and country. She could easily educate you on any of the above should you need it.
Survivors include three daughters, Miriam Susan McCall and Rebecca Tomlinson of Lake Park, Ga, Ruth Tallulah Solarz son-n-law Ken Solarz of Upsala, Minnesota, brother-n-law Sammy Elder of Sebring Fl., daughter-n-law Donna McCall of Jacksonville, Fl, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ms. McCall is preceded in death by a son Avon Lane McCall, a great-grandson Jonathan Asbell, Jr., brother Ralph B. Lane Jr., and three sisters Mittie Lou McCorvey, Doris Cain, and Helen Elder.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 11:00 at Lake Park Christian Church, with Pastor Glenn Everett officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at the Lake Park cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Hospice of South Ga and Langdale Hospice House for all of their loving care and support of our mother/grandmother and family.
