Mary Ann Saliba, age 80, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on July 1, 2025, at her residence. She was born on April 24, 1945, in Valdosta, Georgia, to the late Robert and Mary (McGowan) Hutchens. She found joy in cooking, reading, and doing anything for her beloved grandchildren. A natural servant at heart, she loved caring for others in every way she could. After more than 20 years of teaching mathematics at Valdosta High School, she retired—only to continue sharing her gifts as an educator at Valwood School. Her servant spirit extended to her church community as well, where she served faithfully as the church hostess at First Methodist Church in Valdosta, Georgia.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Jaret Broomberg of Lake Park, Georgia; two grandchildren, Cole Broomberg and Marleigh Broomberg, both of Athens, Georgia; her brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Melanie Hutchens of Columbus, Georgia; her sister, Sandra Finland (Peggy Barden) of Port St. Joe, Florida; her brother, Gary Hutchens; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 18, 2025, at First Methodist Church of Valdosta located on 109 W Valley St. Valdosta, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Methodist Church of Valdosta, 220 N.
