Mary “Ellen” Salter – 71
Of Valdosta passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born on November 8, 1947 in Savannah, GA to the late Carl & Mary (Wright) Marsh. Ellen worked as a nurse for Georgia Home Health. She was a devoted member of Frances Lake Baptist Church. She loved her church & her church family. Ellen loved playing chickenfoot at The Senior Hall, bowling, and watching Alabama Crimsons Tide & the Florida Gators play football. While she rooted on both at the end of the day she would go with the Gators. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Salter, son, Richard Hubbard, mother-in-law, Mary Salter and daughter-in-law, Allison Heath Hubbard. Survivors include: 2 sisters: Rhonda Owens, Lake Park, GA., Janice Marsh, Lake Park, GA. Father-in-law: Louis “Lou” Salter, North Carolina, Sister-in-law, Kathy Salter, North Carolina, Nephews: James Marsh (Lynn) Lake Park, GA., Mark Owens (Courtney), Jennings, FL, Aunt & Uncle, Voncille & Leslie Williams Valdosta, Special Friend, Karen Bickel, Thomasville, GA., Grandson, Joshua Piper, Thomaston, GA., Special Furbaby: Sophie. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the Frances Lake Baptist Church, Lake Park with the burial following at 2:00 PM in the Cherry Lake Baptist Church Cemetery.
