Of Lakeland, formerly of Nashville, passed away late Saturday July 16, 2005 evening in South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Marlboro, south Carolina on May 6, 1923 to the late Benjamin & Clara Hayes Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Vinson Vickers, 2 Sons, Richard and Curtis Burr, Granddaughter, Jennifer Royals, Sister Chris Jacobs Emanuel, and 2 Brothers B.F. Mills and Billy Carlisle. Mrs. Vickers was a member of Knight Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. with burial following in Westview Cemetery in Berrien County.
