Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Fellowship Home. She was born on June 4, 1938 in Pinehurst, GA to the late Cawthon and Catherine Harvard Singletary. She grew up in Cordele, GA, graduated from Cordele High School in 1956 and then moved to Valdosta in 1971. Mrs. West was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendol W. West who passed away March 29, 2011, her son, Greg West who passed away May 29, 2011 and a sister, Gail who passed away October 29, 2010.
Her survivors include her Daughter & Son-in-Law, Cathy & Phillip Chastain of Naylor, GA; Nephew & family, Kevin & Jeanette Taylor of Black Creek, GA; and their daughter & son, Meagan & Christopher; Brother-in-Law, Jack Westbrook of Ellijay, GA; and his daughter & son, Christy & John; Sister-in-Laws, Joyce West of Cordele, GA; her children Scott, Steve, Monica, Kyle and their families; Shirley West of Perry, GA and her daughters, Tara, Wanda, Brenda and their families; Brother-in-Law & Wife, Tommy Lee West & Ellen of Cordele, GA and their sons, Jeff & Tony and their families; Several nieces and nephews; and several extended family members.
A memorial service will be held 11:00Am, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Hahira with burial to follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Mary Beth requested that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5614 Shiloh Road, Hahira, GA 31632.
