Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 28, 1967 in Cabangan, Philippines to the late Ignacio Dalit De Dios and Abella Amado De Dios. He worked as a mechanic on ships with the Military Sea Lift Command. Mateo loved his family and extended family. He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, wood carving, listening to loud classical, Christian and country music. He also enjoyed the ocean, watching politics on tv, basketball, baseball and tennis. He loved going back home to the Philippines. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Evie Jae De Dios; sister, Julita Frenella; brother, Jude De Dios.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sandra De Dios of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Ace De Dios (Rebeka) of Nashville, Georgia; daughter, Sheann De Dios of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Troy De Dios of Valdosta, Georgia; sisters: Merly Cregan (Scott) of Valdosta, Georgia, Marina De Dios of Park Beach, Illinois, Procesa Vonzell (Eric) of Park Beach, Illinois; brother, George De Dios (Joselyn) of Valdosta, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Abundant Life Church of God. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the church. As per his wishes, following the services, he will be cremated. The De Dios family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
