Mattie Bonds, 78
Of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Chi Memorial Hospital. She was born to the late Willard Griffis and Virginia Lebrum on December 31, 1946, in Valdosta, Georgia.
Mattie was an incredibly outgoing and warm-hearted woman. She had a special love for spending time on the front porch, where she would often sit for hours with a glass of tea in hand, soaking in the world around her. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was deeply rooted in it. Mattie’s love for prayer was evident in the way she always prayed for those she cared about. And, of course, her love for flowers was no secret. She would often tend to them with great care, finding tranquility and beauty in the simple joys of nature.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Bonds; sons, Larry Griner and Kenny Joe Griner; and brothers, James Griffis and Billy Griffis.
Survivors include her son, Charles Griner (Heather) of Blairsville, Georgia; daughter, Belinda (Preman) of Houston, Texas; grandchildren: Krystle Clark, Jeffrey Price, Missy Price, Alyssa Price, Jennifer Giddens, Cameron Griner, Cole Duncan, Garry Carman, and Kayla Carman; great-grandchildren: Jaiden Clark, Joey Clark, and Jackson Clark; sisters: Wyoma Davis of Sylvester, Georgia, Levinia Truett of Phoenix City, Alabama, and Diane Petty of Harris County, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
