Mattie Deen Boyett – 98

Of Bonaire, GA passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2004. She was born in Ware County to the late George T. and Bessie King Deen. Mrs. Boyett had lived in Lanier County most of her life. She was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church of Ray City, was also a member of Easter Star and served on the DFACS board of Lanier County for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Boyett, daughter and son-in-law Dot and Charles Howell, sons-in-law John Sears, Paul Smith and Lesley Davidson and granddaughter, Susan Elaine Sears.

Survivors include her children; Doris Sears, Atlanta, GA, Irene Smith, Gaithersburg, MD, Louise Davidson, Bonaire, GA, Earl and Rhea Boyett, Lakeland, GA, Nine grandchildren, 21 great, grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held locally at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 18, 2004 in the First Baptist Church in Ray City, with burial following in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
