Maurice “Ed” Morgan Jr., age 86, of Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 25, 2026. He was born on January 13, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Maurice and Mildred Morgan.
He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, carrying with him the values of dedication, discipline, and service throughout his life. After his military service, he continued to give back to others as a truck driver instructor with Baltimore Community College, where he patiently mentored and guided students, sharing not only his knowledge of the road but also his steady encouragement and belief in their potential.
Beyond his work, he found deep joy and peace in nature. Wildlife photography became one of his greatest passions, especially capturing the delicate beauty of hummingbirds in motion. He spent many peaceful hours visiting local zoos and natural areas with his camera in hand, always searching for the perfect shot. His love for wildlife extended right into his own neighborhood, where he faithfully cared for the squirrels, ensuring they were fed and watched over. Photography was more than a hobby — it was his sanctuary, a quiet place where he felt most at ease and connected to the world around him.
Through his service, his teaching, and his gentle appreciation for nature, he leaves behind a legacy of dedication, patience, and quiet kindness that will be deeply remembered.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rachel Darlene Morgan of Georgia, and Daughter, Joann Teresa Morgan of California.
As per his wishes he will be Cremated and no formal services will be held. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Morgan family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
