Maxine Evelyn Bowling – 97
Of Stockton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 in the South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on February 19, 1925 in Valdosta Georgia to the late Max Elliott and Pearlie Ganas Cox. She started working with the United States Postal Service at the age of 16 where she retired after a long career as the Postmaster in Stockton, Georgia. She enjoyed tending to her flowers but most of all she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Bowling, and a son, Thomas Elliott Bowling.
Survivors include: son, John Franklin Bowling, Jr of Stockton, Georgia; daughter Mary Lee Mercer of Jasper, Florida and Gary L. Bowling (Lisa) of Moultrie, Georgia; grandchildren Shannon Bowling, Chad Bowling (Carrie), Ashley Bowling, Cole Bowling, Travis Bowling, Tonya Howell, David Howell (Pilar), Mac Howell (Brandy), John Howell, Brandon Bowling (Carmen), Amy Bennett, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Stockton Baptist Church with burial to follow at Lovejoy Cemetery.
