Maxine McRae Lewis – 90

Maxine McRae Lewis, 90, a life long resident of Brooks County, Ga., passed away early Sunday
evening March 8, 2009, in the VistaCare Hospice at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA. She was born in Brooks County, Ga. on August 10, 1918 to the late John Knox McRae and Annie Lou Bowen McRae. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Quitman, Ga. She was a homemaker and retired as a nurse at Brooks County Hospital after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her brother Colin McRae.

Survivors include:Daughters & Son-in-law, Carolyne Ray, Cherry Lake, FL, Elaine & Joe Tarpley, Columbus, GA, Son, Benjamin Lewis, Miami, FL, Seven Grandchildren and Spouses: Keith Faucette Robyn, Craig Faucette, Kevin Faucette Karen, Leticia Tarpley-Oppedisano Joe, Alacia Tarpley, Michelle Tarpley Kullen Martin, Jacquelyn Lewis, Six Great Grandchildren: Suzanna Faucette-Baird Jason, Kristen Faucette, Mitchell Faucette, Lucy Tarpley, George Kullen, Charles Kullen, Great Great Grandchild: Hudson Baird

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 12, 2009 in Oakhill Cemetery in Quitman, Ga. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northside Baptist Church, Highway 84 West, Quitman, Ga. 31643 or to VistaCare Hospice, 100 Brookstone Centre Parkway, Columbus, Ga. 31904.
