McDonald "Jabo" Pierce 90
Of Lakeland passed away peacefully Tuesday night May 12, 2015 surrounded by his family in Langdale Hospice House. He was born June 6, 1924 in Lakeland, GA to the late Joseph C. Pierce and Nancy Richardson Pierce. He served as a Marine in World War II and was also a long-time member of Unity Methodist Church. He is preceded in death along with his parents by: 4 brothers: J.C Pierce, Dilmus Pierce, Wilmont Pierce, Billy Pierce and sister, Beatrice Everett.
Survivors include: Wife of 63 years: Betty Strickland Pierce of Lakeland, GA; 3 Daughters & Sons-in-law: Cathi and Gerry Allison of Jacksonville, FL, Terri Pierce Camp of Eatonton, GA, Julie and Christopher Suber of Macon, GA; Son & Daughter-in-law: David McDonald and Cecilia Pierce of Hahira, GA; 12 Grand Children: Scott Camp, Kyle Camp, Lindsey Camp Rickman, Nathan Suber, Emily Suber, Anna Suber, Laura Allison, Benjamin Allison, Jessica Pierce, Justin Pierce, Rachael Pierce, Caleb Pierce; Great Grand Daughter: Ansley Camp; 2 Sisters: Dot Ray of Nashville, GA, Jessie Hudson of Valdosta, GA; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held, Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00AM at Unity United Methodist Church, Lakeland, GA with burial to follow in Unity Church Cemetery. Mr. Pierce will be at the Church one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends this evening Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the Music Funeral Home in Lakeland, Georgia.
