Melanie J. Henry – 75
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on December 7, 1943 in Valdosta, GA to the late Raymond Jackson Jones and Margarette (Screws) Jones. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Hollis Jones and Sammy Jones. She graduated from Lowndes High School in 1961 and went on to business school for 2 years. She was employed as a secretary/receptionist with several businesses in the Valdosta area for over 20 years. She was most recently employed with PTI Transport.
Survivors include: Daughter and Son-in-law, Denise and Harold Dasher of Lake Park, GA; Daughter and Son-in-law, Dena and Marty Martin of Arkansas; Daughter, Deann Haynes of Hahira, GA; Grandchildren: Austin Dasher (Brittany), Tyler Dasher (Elizabeth), Katie Dasher, Sierra McDonald, Ashley Martin, Jordan Martin, David King (Neal), Morgan Buckley, Colton Lightsey and Alanee Haynes; Great Grandchildren: Hayden and Ryleigh Dasher; Special Friends, Shirley Hayes, Millie McEachern and Linda Burkhalter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the funeral home.
