Of Lakeland, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 in Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland, Georgia. He was born on September 21, 1941 in Levy County, Florida to the late Ivor L. and Ebbar Belflower Golden. He retired from owning and operating Mel's Appliances and was of the Baptist faith. Along with his parents, Mr. Golden was preceded in death by his sister Irma King, and by 2 brothers, Edward Golden and Robert Golden.
His survivors include his Companion- Inez Hersey of Douglas, GA; Step Children- Tippy Matlcock of Douglas, GA; Melissa Matlock of Douglas, GA; Johnny & Denise Hersey of Nichols, GA; Brothers & Sister-in-Laws- Earl & Yvonne Golden of Lakeland, GA; Jimmy & Annette Golden of Lakeland, GA; Special Friend-Martha Breeden of Cecil, GA; and A number of Grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews.
Graveside services will be held 2:00PM on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services.
