Michael Logan Battmann Battermann was born at Andrews AFB, Maryland on August 26, 1988. Logan rode his motorcycle through the Pearly Gates and into the arms of Heaven on October 24, 2014 at the age of 26. Logan graduated from Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia in May 2006 where he was a Georgia Bridgemen and a member of the AFJROTC. He was also a cadet officer in the Civil Air Patrol, Moody AFB Squadron. He entered the United States Air Force in September 2006. He attended Basic Training at Lackland AFB, Texas and Technical school at Sheppard AFB, Texas and Tyndall AFB, Florida where he trained as an Assistant Dedicated Crew Chief. His assignments include Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina and Lakenheath RAF, England where he "turned wrenches" on the F-15E Strike Eagle. His service also included deployments to Afghanistan and Korea. He was a member of HOG and rode his '07 Harley V-Rod Night Rod Special, rain or shine, hot or cold.
Logan is survived by his mother, Denise Battermann-Dickinson; dad, William Dickinson; brother, Braden Dickinson; sister, Sierra Dickinson; grandfather, Robert Battermann; grandmothers, Verna Battermann and Margaret Shanks; aunts, LuAnn Kerlin and Shawn Dickinson; uncles, TJ Kerlin and Richard Dickinson; numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles, other family and so many friends.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 1, 2014 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. As per his wishes he will be cremated following the services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made in the name of Michael Logan Battermann to the USO or Wounded Warriors Project.
