Michael Ray Willett – 79
Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Fellowship Home of Nashville. He was born on July 5, 1941 in Evansville, IN to the late Wilma Ester (Wick) Faulk and Thomas Edward Willett. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Chris Willett. Michael served in the United States Air Force as Military Police. After leaving the Air Force, he worked in banking on the West Coast, later moving to Lakeland in early 1980, where he eventually joined Lanier County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy. He was liked and well respected throughout the community as being fair and honorable. After leaving Lanier County Sheriff’s Department, he went to Valdosta State University as Campus Police where he eventually retired. He enjoyed outdoors and working around the house and spending time with his wife. Michael loved spending time with his grandchildren whenever possible. He will be extremely missed. Always Remembered. Never Forgotten. Now peacefully in the arms of an Angel.
Survivors include: Loving wife of 55 years, Annie Mae Robinson-Willett of Lakeland, GA; Sister, Darla Willett Iacovoni of California; Brother, John Willett of Nevada; Step Sister, Glenda of Indiana as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; Step Daughter, Julia Ann Lombard of Lakeland, GA; Step Son, Ronnie Browning of Mississippi; Michael was a loving and doting grandfather to 4 grandchildren: Keith Clanton, Anthony Lombard, Michael Lombard and Katrina Lombard. In addition, there were 10 great grandchildren with one on the way and 2 great-great grandchildren whom all miss him very much.
As per his wishes Michael will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his name. Kind thoughts and memories may be shared online at
