Mildred L. Cissy Taylor, 74, of Valdosta passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 at her home.
Born in Miami Beach, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Robert Little and Elizabeth Whalton Little and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Taylor, Jr. and a brother, Bobby Little. Survivors include daughters Judy Mixon Terry of Winter Springs, Fla., and Ginsie Taylor DeGange of Valdosta; one son, Jay Taylor of Valdosta; a granddaughter, Brooke Haley Taylor of Valdosta; a brother-in-law, Harry C. Taylor Nancy of Vero Beach, Fla. and several nieces and nephews. A special friend, considered as a daughter, Gracie McCall Wisenbaker.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Valdosta, a lifetime member of the Valdosta Junior Service League and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a loyal Georgia Bulldog fan.
She was involved in the furniture business for much of her life, beginning with Rhodes Furniture in Valdosta and later owned, with her late husband, Conolys Furniture in Valdosta.
More recently, she worked in sales for Magnolia Furniture, Laws Furniture and Carter Furniture and is said to have placed more furniture in the homes of many, many friends and customers than anybody is ever likely to do again.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services with the Rev. Bill Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
