Muriel Ogburn Fountain, 77, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Fellowship Home. She was born on August 3, 1947, in White Springs, Florida. Muriel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend. After retiring, Muriel and her husband dedicated their time to serving as volunteer campground hosts at several state parks across Georgia. She had a deep love for fishing and camping, finding peace and joy in the outdoors. Above all, she cherished her family and had an unwavering admiration for Elvis Presley, whose music always held a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her beloved soulmate, Fred Raymond Fountain, as well as her daughter, Teresa Parsley, and son, Timothy Parsley.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Elizondo of Houston, Texas; son, Todd Parsley of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Tommy Parsley of Valdosta, Georgia; bonus daughter, Kim Garvin (Eddie) of Valdosta, Georgia; great granddaughter, Rianne Parsley and 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; special extended family members: Gwen Haney of Ardmore, Alabama and Nancy Thompson of Sylvania, Georgia; brothers: Tim Davis (Lisa) of Dowling Park, Florida, Ricky Davis of Lake City, Florida, and Ernest Skinner of Goodland, Kansas; sisters: Willene Pullum of Harlem, Georgia and Jeannie Willis of Pensacola, Florida.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Muriel’s in-laws, Randall and Margaret Fountain, as well as stepdaughter, Kim and her husband Eddie. Special thanks are also given to Candie Fountain and her daughters for their unwavering dedication and care. The family deeply appreciates the church members and family friends who took the time to visit Muriel, as well as the compassionate team at Fellowship Home for the care and support provided over the last year.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 4, 2025, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
