Myrtle Ruth Guess Bennett – 82
Of Stockton passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born October 20, 1931 in Lanier County to the late Aaron and Louvinie Brogdon Guess. Ms. Bennett worked at Levi's for over 20 years. Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for cooking for her family & friends and her joy of fishing. She was a member of Stockton Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, W.D. Bennett & Dick Bennett, Son Charles Daniel Bennett and Grandson, James Daniel Wyers.
Survivors Include: 3 Daughters & Sons-in-law, Peggy & Bob Langdale, Lakeland, GA, Pamela & Dennis Fender, Stockton, GA, Terri & Wayne Cook, Nashville, GA; Son & Daughter-in-law, Clyde & Patsy Bennett, Stockton, GA, 13 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Granddaughter; Brother & Sister-in-law, Talmadge & Sybil Guess, Homerville, GA and a Special Daughter, Freddie Nell Shugrue, Jacksonville, FL
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Stockton Baptist Church with burial to follow in Lovejoy Cemetery. Ms. Bennett will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to service. The family will receive friends Friday night, January 24, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
