Of Homerville, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 in the South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born March 7, 1931 in Berrien County to the late Lawrence Henry and Rosa Lee Browning Trowell. She retired from Brockway Standard which was formally Standard Container. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Chandler Mathis, 3 siblings, Leo Trowell, Verlyn Trowell, & Bobby Trowell.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 in the Arabia Primitive Baptist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
