Nancy Alice Creel

March 8, 1942 — June 10, 2026

Valdosta, Georgia

Nancy Alice Creel, age 84, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. She was born in Valdosta, GA on March 8, 1942, to loving parents Joseph Quinton DeLoach, Sr. and Lela Pearl DeLoach (née Mills).

It’s been suggested that the day Nancy Alice got behind the wheel, you couldn’t stop her from going. And go she did. Her tires stayed hot as she flitted from place to place in full hair and makeup, colorful clothes, and matching accessories from her signature headbands down to her flamboyant array of earrings, bracelets, and rings; Nancy Alice was the most color-coordinated of all God’s butterflies.

This early fire to experience the fullness of an active (and often rambling) life led her to test-drive a variety of jobs everywhere from Florida to Wisconsin and back home to Georgia. However, in her early 60s, when most people would be retiring, Nancy Alice found her true calling as a dedicated CNA. Incredibly, just months prior to her passing, she was still regularly employed to care for her clients, which she continued to do with compassion and kindness.

Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her profession, as she found her greatest joy in caring for and supporting her expansive number of family and friends. She cherished her Thursday Morning Ladies Coffee League, Tuesday Night Ladies League, and Thursday Night Mixed League at Jac’s Bowling Lanes, kept up with her lifelong Coffee Clutch friends in Wisconsin, proudly reached the 200 Club in bowling, danced the weekends away in nearby Quitman at Waysiders and Dolly’s, faithfully served on the board of directors for the Alzheimer’s Caretaker Time Out (ACTO) 2025, and belonged to the Abundant Life Church of God.

It can be attested that Nancy Alice never met a stranger–partly because she already knew everyone. She loved attending and cooking for gatherings of family and friends, and was particularly well-known for her astonishing 14-layer chocolate cakes–which were capable of sending grown men into frenzied bidding wars. Fact.

Alice. Nancy Alice. Fancy Nancy. Aunt Allie. Mother. Mimi. GG Mimi. However you knew her, she cherished you. Her loss will be deeply felt.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carlos Creel; parents; brother, Joseph Q. Deloach Jr.; and brother-in-law, Tom Facile.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Theresa Depies of Bellaire, FL; sons Mark Peters (Kris) of Watertown, WI and Randy Peters (Tracie) of Valdosta, GA: grandchildren Anna Swope (Aaron) Orlando, FL; Cory Peters (Jessica) of Watertown, WI; Kay Parham (Michael) The Dells, WI; Heather Peters of Hilliard, FL; Andrew Ferrell (Justina) of Okinawa, Japan; Amber Ferrell of The Woodlands, TX; Stephanie Buccellato (Bobby) of Tallahassee, FL; and Madison Payin (Jonathan) of Gainesville, GA; great-grandchildren Olivia, Layla, Ivan, Charlee Rae, Croston, Noah, and Cara; sisters Ann Parker (Ronny), Hahira, GA, Linda Facile, Cecil, GA, Bj McAllister (Michael) of Atlanta, GA; brother Phillip DeLoach of Hudson, NY; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and countless extended family members, both by blood and in her heart.
