Nancy Curtis – 68

Of Valdosta passed away Sunday, November 20, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late J. Arthur and Helen Harris of Arlington, Virginia. Mrs. Curtis taught at Lake Park Elementary School for 33 Years. Even after retirement she still continued to serve and help people. She volunteered with Best Buddies, served as an officer at the Lowndes Retired Teachers Association, as Historian for the local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and a Patroness of Sigma Alpha Iota. In addition she was active at Christ Church in the St. Francis Choir Daughters of the King, and Acolyte Coordinator for the 11:30 service. Her last major project was the Dominican Republic Mission Trip sponsored by the Church.

Survivors Include; Husband, John Curtis, Daughter, Beth Curtis, Mother-in-law, Dorothy Curtis, all of Valdosta, Brother and Sister-in-law, Jim and Sara Harris, Maryland and numerous other beloved family and friends.

Memorial Services were held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 30, 2005 in the Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Peter Ingeman officiating. A private burial was held in the Christ Episcopal Church Memorial Garden. The family requests donations be made to the 2006 Dominican Mission Trip sponsored through Christ Episcopal Church, Valdosta, 1521 North Patterson Street, Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
