Of Lakeland, GA passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born May 25, 1925 to the late Harrison Matthew and Ruth Griner Spells in Lanier County, GA. She was a homemaker, gardener, avid fisherman and was a wonderful story teller. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lakeland since she was 14 years old. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, J.C. Newsome and Johnny Bryant Fender, daughter, Amanda Newsome, and 3 brothers, Charlie Spells, Jody "Red" Spells, and Leland "Buddy" Spells.
Survivors Include: 2 Daughters & Sons-in-law, Patricia & Wayne Ganas, Naylor, GA, Debbie & Donald Morrison, Ocklawaha, FL; 3 Sons & Daughter-in-laws, Bobby & Mary Fender, Naperville, IL, Buddy & Brenda Newsome, Lakeland, GA, Ronnie & Penny Newsome, Lakeland, GA; 14 Grandchildren: Tracy JaramilloDanny, Kelli JaramilloCarl, Mandy DelkBrad, Bree HarrisAndy, Shaun Bradham, Lindsey MuncyMike, Matthew Fender, Emily Fender, Allison Fender, Chris NewsomeKelly, Brandy BenefieldKevin, Jamie NewsomeTiffaney Delk, Eric NewsomeJessica and , Billy Rae HarrisLisa:31 Great Grandchildren; Sister & Brother-in-law, Louise & Bill Anderson, Lakeland, GA and a number of Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:00AM in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
