Of Valdosta passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on June 12, 1935 in Lowndes County to the late Julius Cam & Jewel May Courson McLeod. She was of the Church of Christ faith. Mrs. Porter enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, pets and traveling. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Flythe.
She is survived by her; Husband, Alden Porter, Jr., Valdosta, GA; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Sherry & Dave Short, Valdosta, GA, Terry & Wandall Hiers, Valdosta, GA, Peggy & Larry Sullivan, Jacksonville, FL; 6 Grandchildren:Jason Hiers, Angela Becerra, Melissa Short, Dustin Sullivan, Derrek Sullivan & Justin Hiers; 3 Great Grandchildren, Emma Becerra, Allison Hiers, Liam Sullivan and one due in June; Sister & Brother-in-law, Joanne & Wayne Jernigan, Lake Park, GA
As per her wishes she will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held.
