Norman "Bruce" Wood

Norman “Bruce” Wood – 65 of Echols County, Georgia passed away on Saturday October 3, 2020 in the South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Bruce was born on May 27, 1955 in Houston, Texas to Rheda Wood McPhearson of Lake Park, Georgia and the late Walter Clyde Wood. He owned and operated Pilot Transportation Service. Over the years, he also worked as a truck driver and heavy machinery operator. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but Bruce’s greatest joy in life was being a papa. Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Jennifer Drury, David Wood, Jerry Wood.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Gayle Wood of Echols County, GA; 2 daughters: Sherry Pagotschnik and husband, Ted of Avon, MN, Debbie Fowler and husband, Jason of Crawfordville, FL; 2 sons: Dewayne Wood and wife Tia of Lakeland, GA, Blu Wood and wife Shelly of Lake Park, GA; 12 grandchildren: Dustin Mote, Dylan Mote, Austin Huggins, Jacob Fowler, Dakota Harper, Harley Fowler, Jonathan Wood, Gabriel Wood, Wyatt Wood, Clayton Wood, and Elyssa Wood, Kailyn Wood; 4 great grandchildren: Kolton, Emma, Riley, and Bo; Brothers: Timmy Wood of Lake Park, GA, Gene Wood of Statenville, GA, J.R. Wood and wife Liz of Lake Park, GA; A number of nieces and nephews.
